About the Conference

The EMPOWER 2018 conference is being organized to bring together all stakeholders in the space of Assistive Technologies for people with disabilities. This includes users, user organizations, industries, special educators, inclusive designers, healthcare professionals, entrepreneurs, policy makers and researchers engaged in different ways with the issues involved in the creation, production, and dissemination of assistive technology solutions. This three-day event will see the active participation of all stakeholders not only to discuss current solutions but also to seed ideas to work on future solutions.

Apart from an exhibition the event would consist of keynote talks, invited presentations, panel discussions, posters, tutorials, user forums and design challenges. Registrations are now open for individuals and organizations to participate. Participants can submit their paper for review and exhibit their products and innovations and also participate in design challenges.

The venue is I-TEC Technopark, a conference and incubation center of IIT Delhi located in the Rajiv Gandhi Education City in Sonipat.

Call For Extended Abstracts

Submission Guidelines:
The abstract should be of 2 pages (excluding references). Please use the below format for submission.
Word | LateX | View Sample Extended Abstract

Poster Submission:

Your PDF file must be accessible. PDFs created with LaTex are very difficult to make accessible unless you edit the output directly in Acrobat; we strongly suggest using Microsoft Word due to the easier accessibility workflow. It may take you about an hour to make your file accessible (adding alt tags, etc.), so be sure to leave time before the submission deadline to do so. Please refer to the instructions on Creating an Accessible ACM Conference Paper for information on how to accomplish this.

Note that making an accessible PDF is not well-supported by any standard LaTex editors that we are aware of. If you use LaTex you will need to manually edit your PDF using Adobe Acrobat in order to make it accessible.

The submitted abstracts will be reviewed by Program Committee and shortlisted ones will be invited for poster presentation in the conference. Exceptional submissions may be considered for oral presentation in the relevant technical session.
